The beautiful dancers were excited to share Cinco de Mayo with the Carpenter Elementary School. All afternoon the staff helped teach about the celebration of Cinco de Mayo.
Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexico's victory in 1862. It was about a battle over the second French Empire at Puebla in Mexico that was led by General Ignacio Zaragoza. The Mexican Army was able to defend the city of Puebla from French invasion. May 5th is the official day for the battle.
