Albin accepted backhoe bid

The Albin Town Council opened two sealed bids for the backhoe Thursday evening at their monthly meeting.

The winning bid came from Kirk Steiner for $20,600. The other bid was considerably less at $17,103.

The council heard from Teneta Anderson who had been volunteering with the lunch program the past week to collect information to help with the costs of the program.

“Labor costs about $75.50 per day when you add in the shopping time over the course of the week,” explained Anderson. “The program served 81 meals Monday through Thursday at a meal cost between $5 and $9.50.”
