Lady Broncs downed by Southeast

The Burns Lady Broncs played Southeast at home Friday evening bringing their season record to 4-2.

The Lady Broncs won Friday’s first two sets, 25-20, 25-22. They lost momentum and the next three sets by scores of 17-25, 14-25, and 7-15.

Head coach Christina Patterson said Southeast is always a contender and looking at the SEWAC from last year she doesn’t count any team out.

“It’s a matter of who shows up to play,” Patterson said. “Any team has a chance and we played well the first two sets but just lost momentum and fell apart the next three sets. That’s the game of volleyball.”

Patterson said the team would have to build on playing the entire game and keeping the momentum on their side of the court.

Stat leaders include Mckayla Ward who had 12 kills and 13 assists. Chelsea Engel turned in 10 assists. Jessica Malm led in digs with 22, and Hailey Pyle contributed eight kills.

On Thursday the team will travel to Lingle. Friday and Saturday will also find the ladies on the road as they travel to Big Horn for the tournament there.

Burns defeats Southeast

The Burns Broncs knocked the wind out of the Southeast Cyclones Friday night on the Cyclones home field. The 14-0 score gave the Broncs a 1-0 start to the season.
