The Pawnee Lady Coyotes engaged in a tough battle against Fleming Friday at home.

The Pawnee Lady Coyotes faced off with Fleming on their home court Friday before heading out on the road to pool play at Sedgwick County.

The ladies lost to Fleming in three sets but gained momentum in each set improving their score as they battled the Lady Wildcats. The scores for the match were 11-25, 14-25, 19-25.

On Saturday, the team went to Sedgwick County and played two matches. The Lady Coyotes lost in two sets 17-25, 22-25 following the pattern set in the Fleming game.

Then came success as they defeated Haxton. A 20-25 loss in the first set led to a 25-21 win in the second. This forced a third game to break the tie. The Lady Coyotes outpaced Haxton for a 15-7 set and the win.

The Coyotes now have a 3-1 record. They put it on the line when they host Prairie for a 1A North Central contest on Thursday. Prairies’ Lady Mustangs are coming off a 3-2 league loss to Weldon Valley and have a record of 0-4.
