Loss is not the end of the story: Cassie's Corner dedicated to young readers

A dad takes a moment during Cassie’s Corners dedication to read to his son, just like Cassie would have wanted. At right, two of Cassie’s classmates stand holding hands as Chris and Cori Cooper remember their daughter.

Amidst 200 people in a standing-room-only Burns elementary library, sits a father and a young son reading a book. They were doing what Cassidy Cooper would do any time she had the chance. Read and spend time with her family. And doing it, appropriately enough, at the dedication of Cassie’s Corner Thursday evening.

Cassie’s mother and father, Chris and Cori Cooper were asked soon after the tragic accident that ended the life of their lifelong reader, what they would like to do with the memorial money to honor Cassie.
