Hornets come up short at state competition

The Pine Bluffs Hornets came within reach of a championship game over the weekend, but came up short in a semifinal game that ended in double overtime.

"It was a great experience for our kids and the program," said Coach William Gray. "We told them during the week that we had every opportunity to be playing for a state championship, and we came up just short of doing so."

After beating the Big Piney Punchers 75-59 March 6, the Hornets moved onto a semifinal game against Rocky Mountain Grizzly. The Hornets fell to Rocky Mountain 71-64 in double overtime.
