No state recounts in primary election

Secretary of State, Max Maxfield, announced today that given the unofficial election results submitted by county clerks, it appears as if no statutory recounts are required in any statewide or legislative races.

“As we all know, there were certainly some close races, but none that by statute require a recount,” stated Maxfield.

According to state statute (W.S. 22-16-109), a recount is required if the number of votes between the winning and losing candidate is less than one percent of the votes cast for the winning candidate.
