Young hunters attend annual pheasant hunt

The High Plains Chapter of Pheasants Forever had another successful year with their youth pheasant hunt.

Twenty three young hunters - members of the Texas Trail Ringnecks, student division of Pheasants Forever - ranging from ages 10 through 17 showed up at 7 a.m. on Dec. 6 with a parent or guardian to a breakfast for champions at Silver Wings Hunting Ranch in LaGrange, Wyoming. Pancakes, eggs and sausage with juice, milk, coffee and hot cocoa got them set for the hunt ahead.

Inexperienced hunters were kept back and their skills were sharpened with a round of clay pigeons, while the others...
