Pine Bluffs Boys' track returns with six state qualifiers

The Pine Bluffs Boys' track team gave the girls' track team a 200-yard advantage last Friday before starting their own laps around the track, preparing for their first meet March 28 in Kimball.

The Pine Bluffs Boys' track team will return to the field this year with six state qualifying athletes, two of whom will be finishing their high school careers this year.

Seniors Preston Thurin and Scott Gross showed a lot of talent during the state contests last year according to Coach Dustin Lee.

Thurin competes in several events including sprints, long jump and triple jump. Coach Lee said, "He showed a lot of talent last year, and is one of the quickest kids we have on the team."

"Scott's (Gross) best in the disc so far is 152 feet one inch, and he also threw his best shot put last year...
