Garcia finishes 'the cycle'

The Pine Bluffs-Burns Cross Country team gave it their all in both the girl's and boy's runs last week. The girls missed taking the first place spot for the first time in five years on points. Brittani Wilson (left) is trailed by a runner from Cheyenne South, while Dylan Kranz (right) is the leader of the pack with two runners from Bridgeport and one from Kimball in his wake.

What a beautiful day to run. Seventy-three degrees is much more enjoyable than 97 degrees, like last week in Gering. Our athletes times showed that difference too. Almost every athlete had a personal best! It also pays off that we are in week five of the season and the miles are getting easier and easier to manage.

The high school boys took advantage of the cool weather. All but one athlete had a personal best time.

Jorge Garcia finished "the cycle", earning first place this year. In his high school career, at the Kimball meet, he has placed 4th, 3rd, 2nd and now has finished in first. That...
