Wrestlers place eighth at Bison Bonanza

Nolan Schindler positions Rock Spring's Jason Jorgensen for a win by pin as the Burns/Pine Bluffs wrestling team saw mat action Dec. 30 at South High School in Cheyenne. Schindler was perfect on the day, going 5-0 in individual competition. Overall, Burns placed eighth in the tournament, falling to Wheatland in the placing rounds.

The Burns/Pine Bluffs wrestling team headed to South High School in Cheyenne on Dec. 30 to take part in the Bison Bonanza wrestling tournament. Although the team placed eighth in overall team competition, several individual wrestlers had outstanding showings on the mat, including an undefeated day for Nolan Schindler, who went 5-0.

Schindler, who wrestles in the 220-pound weight class, got two wins by forfeit and three by fall, taking down Jason Jorgensen of Rock Springs, Kyle Grant of Central and Gus Tapia from Torringon.
