Good morning Banner County!

If you are a part of the farming community then congratulations on getting the wheat harvest underway. Combines can be seen all over the county. Good thing. I sincerely hope that the weather co-operates.

All of these high temps are perfect to get the fields cleaned up!

Birthdays here in Harrisburg and of county families near and far include:Ron Havengar, Amanda Cochran, Norris Leafdale, J. T. Evans, Trey May,TJ Grubbs, Kaylee Bohnsack, Nancy Olsen, Lindsey Soule, Brett Cooper, Rick Parker, Quinn Elsen, and Kerry Elsen! Happy Happy Birthday.

Congratulations on another anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Gifford, Frances Grubbs and Kole Talkington. This is probably one of the slowest times in our little part of the world.

County Fairs are going on in many of our surrounding areas and ours will start August 8. Animal weigh-ins are Wednesday, August 10 I believe.

The 4-H kids around here have been working pretty hard and as usual we have one that is stubborn, the steer, not the kid.

This heat means early morning walks and baths.

If you like art and are interested in Van Gough, his work will be on the big screen at the Midwest Theater in Scottsbluff on Thursday evening (Tonight), July 21.

The showing is titled “Van Gogh: A New Way of Seeing.” On Friday - Sunday, July 22-24 the movie “Me Before You” will play. The time is 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, 1:30 p.m. The movie is a comedy rated PG.

Also at the Midwest the 4th Annual Calibraska Arts Initiative Summer Art Camp will be held on Friday, July 22 and it is available for all ages and is FREE. It will be held at the Midwest from 2-4 p.m.

The final event at the Midwest this week is a Calibraska Red Carpet Event on Monday, July 25 at 7 p.m. and it is FREE. Works in various forms of animation will hit the big screen and you are invited to come dressed as your favorite character.

Theatre West is performing “Willy Wonka” out at the WNCC Little Theater the July 21 - 27 this week. I believe the time for each evening is 7 p.m.

Saturday, July 22 the participants of the Pony Express Re-Ride will be passing through the Legacy of the Plains Museum. I do not know what time they are expected to be going through there, but the number for more information is 436-1989.

The Farmers Market continues on 18th Street in Scottsbluff on Saturday, July 23 from 8 - 11:30 a.m. Lots of goodies!

At Frank Park, the Arts in the Park series will continue this Wednesday, July 27. This week the feature is ‘Cats.’

Backing up to Saturday, July 22. If you want a great time and don’t mind traveling just a little bit, head on out to Lake McConaugh where they are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Kingsley Dam and Lake McConaugh. This is a two-day celebration with a FREE BBQ, sand volleyball, and kayaking events.
