Christy Woodworth and son Wyatt spend a moment together after Pine Bluffs Elementary School dismissed Monday. Monday was Wyatt's first day of kindergarten, and he said he enjoyed it.

Students in southeastern Laramie County returned to school Monday, and administrators and faculty reported a successful first day.

"There were lots of happy faces here today," Pine Bluffs Elementary Principal Andrea Verosky said Monday.

That PBES students had a place to go to school Monday is worth noting.

Due to the renovation at the old elementary school, school officials planned for PBES students to attend classes at the adjacent historic high school in Pine Bluffs. After last month's hailstorm, it looked as though the building may be too damaged to support classes.
