Hornets, Coyotes head into playoff contests this weekend

Hornets senior quarterback Haize Fornstrom, center, cuts up the field against the Tiger defense as Pine Bluffs beat Niobrara County (Lusk) last Friday in the last regular season game. The Hornets head to Cowley, Wyo. this Friday to face Rocky Mountain in the first round of playoffs.

The Pine Bluffs Hornets and the Pawnee Coyotes will both be on the road this weekend to face their respective opponents in the first round of high school playoffs.

Pawnee will take on Cotopaxi in Canon City, Colo. this Saturday at 2 p.m. after pummeling Briggsdale last Friday, 61-6.

On the Wyoming side, the Hornets will be heading to Cowley, Wyo. to take on undefeated Rocky Mountain on Friday night.

Pine Bluffs ended the regular season with a win over Lusk (Niobrara County) to end the season at 6-2 overall.
