One of the bigger stories in the second half of 2016 was the dedication of the Pine Bluffs Veterans Memorial and Community Park in September. Pictured are project manager Larry Silvey, left, and Wyoming Governor Matt Mead, right, who dedicated the plaza before a standing room only crowd. Along with the pictured battle cross sculpture, the memorial features four sculptures representing the four branches of U.S. military.

Dennis Noack, 74, of Pine Bluffs, was killed when the 2004 Toyota Solara he was driving rear-ended a 2016 Jeep Cherokee on eastbound Interstate 80. The collision caused both vehicles to roll off the highway into the south ditch. Noack was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected, sustaining fatal injuries at the scene.
