Second-place finishes for Pine Bluffs at Burns Invite

Junior Jourdaine Cerenil looks down the track as she runs for Pine Bluffs in the girls 400m dash last week in Burns. Cerenil ran a 1:13.22, which placed her eighth in the finals.

The Pine Bluffs track and field team visited Burns last Thursday and both the boys and girls teams came in second overall in team standings. It was also a good day individually, as head coach Dustin Lee said more Pine athletes pre-qualified for state.

"We had several highlights throughout the day with three more athletes pre-qualifying in four events," Lee said. "Natalie Christofferson made the mark in the 100h, Montanna Chrystal in the 200m, which makes her fifth pre-qual mark for the year, and Seth Tangeman on the boys side made it in the 100m and 200m sprint."
