High-flying mayor

"It's a good thing he doesn't like boats our we'd have to build him a lake," said Rodney Anderson, former mayoral opponent of John Marquardt.

Marquardt served one year as a town councilman beginning in 1990 and was elected mayor in 1991 and served four two-year- terms.

"We used to have to run for mayor every two years. They changed that to four years after I was gone. So you'd have to run every two years for mayor," Marquardt said.
