Hornets sting the Doggers
February 1, 2018
The Pine Bluffs boys continued to dominate the southeastern conference with a score of 74-22 against the Lingle Doggers. The Hornets entered the gym to "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N' Roses but, that didn't stop them from taking over the game. Although the Lingle team was bigger and taller the Hornets were able to stop them. At times it seemed more like a football game than a basketball game. Lingle ran into foul trouble and had 10 fouls before the end of the first quarter. Pine Bluffs continued their run to victory with a score of 48-14 at the end of the second quarter. The crowd started to thin during half time but, the boys came out to finish the win and a running clock with 3:07 in the third quarter wrapped up the game quickly. The score at the end of the third was 58-18. The Doggers continued to struggle to score and the final score was 74-22. Sophomore guard Michael Shain led the scoring with 27 points followed by Tucker Norman with 15 points and seven rebounds. Senior Haize Fornstrom added 11 points with six rebounds and five steals. Andrew Fornstrom contributed with a game high five assists. Pine Bluffs continues their quest on Friday against conference opponent the Southeast Cyclones at 6:00 and then play at Glenrock on Saturday at 5:30.
