Rock Ranch Vodka honored with award

February 21, 2019

After a memorable first year in business, the crew at Pine Bluffs Distilling can add another feather to their cap: A bronze medal from the American Craft Spirits Association.

Of more than 500 vodkas entered into the organization’s annual contest, Rock Ranch Vodka was one of only 21 selected for the bronze medal according to a Pine Bluffs Distilling press release.

“At Pine Bluffs Distilling, we strive to create the best quality, locally produced Wyoming spirits,” co-owner Chad Brown said in a press release. “Winning a bronze at ACSA shows that we have achieved our goal.”

The ACSA annual convention was held Feb. 10 - 12 in Minneapolis.

Rock Ranch Vodka was the first spirit to be offered in the distillery’s tasting room.

Fans of the vodka describe it as the “Swiss Army Knife” of vodkas because it can be used in complex cocktails such as bloody Marys or Moscow Mules while also being perfect for a simple vodka-cranberry.

It has since been joined by Lodgepole Creek Bourbon and Cheyenne Summer Corn Whiskey.

Since opening in late 2017, Pine Bluffs Distilling has quickly made a name for itself in Laramie County and western Nebraska in hosting unique events in what locals describe as a laid back tasting room.

Staple events include cocktail yoga.

Others have included Sunday Bloody Sunday — a recent bloody Mary brunch — and numerous events celebrating holidays.

In addition to numerous events held on the facility’s grounds, Pine Bluffs Distilling’s products have steadily expanded their availability all over the nation.

Products can be purchased as far away as Pennsylvania.

They’re also available in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and New Mexico.
