A celebration of life service will be held for Dorothy Baskins at 2:00 p.m. on April 13, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Pine Bluffs. She passed away in Marysville, WA on March 21 at the age of 99.

Dorothy was born in Weld County, CO on January 25, 1920. She was the youngest of 14 siblings.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jake, her parents, Georger and Lara Higday, siblings 6 brothers: Charles, Fred, Homer, Archie, Max (Bill) Marvin, 7 sisters: Lila Roberts, Lova Haygood, Margaret Taylor, Alice Long, Viola Higday, Mae Bishop and Merlie Kelley, and a grandson, Andrew Baskins.

Survivors include her sone Wayne and his wife Connie of Marysville, WA, 4 grandchildren, Jody Baskins of Kent, WA, Shawn Baskins of Everett, WA, Michelle Dupius of Federal, WA, and Andrew Baskins (deceased), 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy married Jake Baskins in Greeley, CO on August 1, 1938. He passed away on December 6, 1974.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, a past member of Evening Circle, the former Pine Bluffs kitchen band and a clown group called "Fools of Faith."

Dorothy worked most of her life as a waitress in various places and was also a cook in the Pine Bluffs school lunchroom for several years. She also worked on farms with her husband Jake.

Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given in honor of Dorothy to the Methodist Women at the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church.
