The Pine Bluffs Hornets varsity football team ended their bid for another state championship last Friday when they lost to the Big Piney Punchers 28-14 in the first round of the playoffs. The Hornets traveled to Big Piney for their first game of the playoffs and a chance for another state championship. The Hornets entered the postseason with a 6-2 record having lost their last two seasonal games. The Punchers were 5-1 in conference play and 7-1 in seasonal play and would be a tough team to beat.
