Tayten Zitek and the rest of the Cheyenne East golf team have been selected to represent the state of Wyoming at a national golf tournament in April. Zitek, the son of Chris and Amy Zitek and grandson of Jim and Kate Zitek, and the rest of the Cheyenne East golf team won the state 4A championship last year.     Nichole Sumare of the Burns/Pine Bluffs wrestling team took first place in her weight class last weekend. The team traveled to Lander, Wyoming to compete in the Lander Invite where they placed fourth out of 23 teams. Sumare took a little over a minute to pin her opponent,Angelina Bontadelli from Powell in the first round and just 3:08 seconds for her second win against Isabel Kuegeler from Riverton.     The Burns Broncs fell to the bite of the Hornets last Saturday in a conference match-up. Despite the efforts of Mason Medley and Parker Ochsner who each scored double digits, the Bucking Broncs could not overcome the Hornets swarm and fell 37-59. Mason Medley led the team in scoring with 14 points. He shot 46 percent from the floor and went two of three from the free throw line.     The Lady Hornets hosted the Lady Broncs in a conference game held at the Hornets Hive last Saturday. The Lady Broncs were just a bit too strong for the Lady Hornets and beat them 34-51. The Lady Hornets had a slow start and were only able to score two points in the first quarter. But they rallied in the rest of the game and did well.     The Niobrara County Tigers pulled the reigns back on the bucking Broncs and kept them in their chute. Despite the efforts of Mason Medley who scored 15 points in the game the Broncs fell to the Tigers 45-78. Medley went seven of nine from inside the arch and made one of three free throws. Medley also brought down a team leading 11 rebounds with nine defensive and two offensive. He also had two assist's, two steals and blocked one shot.     The Lady Hornets took on the Lady Tigers from Mitchell, Nebraska last Tuesday. The Lady Hornets were running hard and stung the Lady Tigers with a 61-31 victory. Avery Sweeter and Jessica Hoffman were on fire hitting 30 of the teams 61 points. Sweeter led the team with 18 points and Hoffman added another 12 points.     The Hornets were out-played by the Mitchell, Nebraska Tigers in a non-conference game last Tuesday. These non-conference games are educational and help the team gain experience. The Hornets conference record is 1-0 and they are currently sitting atop the conference.     The kids and parents are always looking to improve and participate in their sport. This time of year rodeos are far and few in between, especially for the youth. On January 20th about five miles northwest on road 212 out of Pine Bluffs there was an indoor rodeo for the youth.     The Pine Bluffs Lady Hornets varsity basketball team traveled with their male counter-parts to the city of Yoder, Wyoming to face the Southeast Lady Cyclones.     The Burns/Pine Bluffs wrestling team attended the Shane Shatto Memorial meet in Douglas, Wyoming last weekend. The team placed 13th out of the 25 teams that participated in the tournament.
