Local meteorologist helps third-graders learn about weather

The third-grade class at Carpenter Elementary School recently received a visit from a local meteorologist.

Amber Imel's class is learning about weather, and Samantha Thomas of a nearby TV station visited the school to talk about her job, tools she utilizes and to answer questions.

Imel said the students are learning about many aspects of weather. Thomas shared a variety of stories about her storm chases as well as how she does her job from day to day.
