Coyotes successfully open basketball season

The Pawnee Coyotes began their first week of basketball games with a home game, then hit the road for a tournament.

On Tuesday, Dec. 2, the Pawnee Coyotes declared victory in their first game of the season against the Union Colony Prep Timberwolves, 47-27.

"We had a pretty solid outing for the home opener," Coach Tim Brunelle said. "Our defensive effort was good and allowed us to gradually build a lead in spite of having a few struggles scoring at times. Overall, I was pleased with the effort and unselfish play."
