Hornets sweep opponents to open season 4-0

Pine Bluffs senior Hunter Thompson skies over Wyoming Indian's Ryan Tiger to pop off two of his 21 points against the Chiefs last Thursday night. The Hornets won 61-54 on the opening night of the Burns Winter Classic and went on to defeat all comers to start the season at 4-0.

The Pine Bluffs Hornets competed in the Burns Winter Classic Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The team concentrated on using teamwork and came out winning all of their games.

The Pine Bluffs Hornets' first game in the Winter Classic was Thursday afternoon against the Wyoming Indian Chiefs, grabbing the win by seven points. The fast-paced first quarter lead to Pine Bluffs trailing by one, 12-13. Going into halftime, the Hornets were still down but by five points, 27-32.
