Tom McDonough of the Town of Pine Bluffs is asking residents to make an effort to reduce and conserve their use of electricity this Saturday, Oct. 24. Western Area Power (WAPA) will be working on their substation in Pine Bluffs Saturday, from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. No power outages are planned, and if any do occur they will be dealt with in a timely manner. A traffic stop for speeding on Oct. 15, west of Cheyenne, resulted in the arrest of two California men who were traveling with more than 50 pounds of marijuana. A Wyoming State Trooper stopped a blue 2015 Hyundai Accent at 10:15 a.m. at mile post 351 on Interstate 80, approximately nine miles west of Cheyenne. The Hyundai was traveling 85 in 75 mph zone. A Missouri farmer went out into a field to torch a load of garbage. The fire got out of control, so, the quick thinking farmer got into his van and tried to put the fire out by running over it with his truck. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but for one thing: the vehicle’s tires caught fire sending flames up to a gas tank and a load of ammunition.
