    The Pine Bluffs Branch Library invited kids in kindergarden through 6th-grade to enjoy a day of Halloween fun on Tuesday, Oct. 21. Librarians Mary Cushing and Christina Heard helped kids have a spook-tacular time with enchanting activities. Kids used feathers and Sharpies to decorate mini pumpkins, and made spider webs by cutting out the middle of a paper plate, stringing yarn through it and placing plastic spiders on the web.   • Chlorine still in season

    Residents in Pine Bluffs have been asking why their water tastes like chlorine. Tom McDonough, Maintenance Supervisor with the Town of Pine Bluffs said chlorine is put into the town water during the summer and taken out for irrigation and harvest season. However, the chlorine hadn’t been taken out of the water supply yet. Chlorine is used as a disinfectant in the ground water pipes.     The Wyoming Community Foundation of Rock Springs (WYCF-RS) is proud to announce that they are hosting the 2015 Wyoming State Spelling Bee.     The Pine Bluffs Town Meeting held on Monday, Oct. 20 might take the gold for the quickest meeting, lasting less than eight minutes. Mayor William Shain, Councilman Mike Ragsdale, Councilman Mark Fornstrom and Town Clerk Carleen Graves were the only council members present.     The Lady Hornets declared victory on two three-game wins to complete their volleyball season last weekend. On Friday, Pine Bluffs Lady Hornets played Guernsey Lady Vikings on the road. The Lady Hornets beat the Lady Vikings and took home the win. "It wasn't pretty, but the girls got the job done," Pine Bluffs Volleyball Coach Chris Nusbaum said.     Burns Lady Broncs had a defeat and a victory to complete their season this week. On Tuesday, The Lady broncs were on the road to play against Southeast Lady Cyclones. The Lady Cyclones are a tough team to beat and the Lady Broncs were blown away. During the first set, the Lady Broncs put up a fight against the Lady Cyclones but were swept away 19-25.     The Pawnee Lady Coyote volleyball team traveled to Sterling, Colo. Tuesday Oct. 21 to the NJC gym for the first round of district tournaments and lost the match.     The Burns Broncs finished their season with a victory against the Wright Senior Panthers Friday at Pine Bluffs football field, 34-8. The Burns Broncs made the first touchdown of the game.     The curtain dropped on the Pine Bluffs Hornet’s football season on the road Friday at Dayton. The feisty Hornets fought all the way to the last minute, but couldn’t overcome the Tongue River Eagles’ early onslaught as they fell 53-22. Tongue River struck early in the first to go up 7-0.     The cross country season has come to another successful close for the Pine Bluffs-Burns Cross Country team, and boy, has it been a wild ride. The team had new additions all around—a brand new freshmen runner, new runners from both schools and a new assistant coach. The girls have done it again, they are the 2A Girls’ State Champions.     State Capitol— Secretary of State Max Maxfield reminds employers that Wyoming law requires that employees be given one hour off to vote in next Tuesday’s General Election.
