    Tuesday, Sept. 2 Becky Drefahl called the Nebraska Mega Millions to get the winning numbers for the Wyolotto Mega Millions jackpot. At first she thought she had matched three of the numbers. She went back Wednesday to the Pine Bluffs Exxon where she bought her ticket expecting to receive her three dollars.     Vyrna Grace (Nichols) Pavlica passed away on July 27, 2014. She was 92 years old and was at home in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Vyrna was born July 15, 1922, in Canon City, Colo., to George and Grace Nichols. She was a long-time resident of Burns, where she and her husband Alex Pavlica farmed. Vyrna worked at the Antelope Station for 20 years. She then went to work at Kmart until her retirement. Vyrna moved to Florida where she lived with her daughter Lynde. He graduated from Pine Bluffs High School in 1968 and attended the University of Wyoming. He was proud of his service in the Navy during his two terms of duty in the Vietnam War. Renner said, “Lee Wymer farmed around Pine Bluffs area in the first half of the twentieth century. Wymer was born into a farming family in Carleton, Neb. in 1889 and around 1910 followed his brothers Herman and John west to Pine Bluffs.     After six years of holding onto the traveling trophy, Burns football team played their rival team and insured another year of bragging rights at the Burns Vs. Pine Bluffs football game Friday night. The traveling trophy is an old football helmet with Burns painted on one said and Pine Bluffs painted on the other.     The Pawnee Volleyball team hosted Arickaree Friday and were at Sedgwick County Saturday. On Friday, the Lady Coyotes lost in three games.     The Pine Bluffs-Burns Cross Country team had a first full team experience with junior high joining the run at the Gering Invite on Friday at Gering Park.
